Meet Andy Knox, Control Room Manager at PSM. Having 3 Andrews at PSM tends to get confusing so we refer to this Andrew as AK!
AK has over 10 years experience as a front line CCTV operator so knows only too well the ebbs and flows of working in a busy control room.
AK has a thorough understanding of PSM’s operating software and processes. This invaluable knowledge coupled with his loyalty, commitment and 100% effort; makes him the perfect choice for our Control Room Manager. AK manages the PSM team of operators day to day, ensures the systems are working effectively, plus carries out regular audits on the PSM team (including on myself and Andy) and processes we follow. AK is also heavily committed to carrying out in-house weekly training sessions with all operators, each week covering a different aspect of our service.
We asked AK:
What one word would you use to describe yourself?
- Conscientious
What is your favourite saying?
- ‘Always remember that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder’ I especially love using this analogy in our security industry.
What in your view is the most important aspect of working at PSM?
- Effective training and audit values to always ensure we not only fulfil our promise to provide personal, tailored and effective remote monitoring; but do it in style.
About AK… AK lives in Wigan with his family where he helps care for his elderly grandmother. He divides his time between a growing interest in cooking, Manchester City football club and walking his Jack Russell, Chester.
AK enjoys travelling, especially Cornwall for the coastal walks and local history and hospitality.
