Lighter, warmer evenings are great for your health, well being and general mood. However, as with most good things, there tends to be double edged sword; and in our line of work, it is gangs of youths staying out longer and later; getting up to all sorts of mischief.
Over the last week, we have seen an increase in gangs of youths throwing stones and attempting to cause mindless criminal damage at several sites we protect. One primary school in particular are frequently targeted by wayward youths as they are attracted to the apparatus on the playground, easy accessible roof, large playing areas and fields.
We do of course issue live and recorded audio warnings, depending on the situation, and follow the youths so they can make no mistake that they are being watched in real time by experienced CCTV operators.
These youths know we are not bluffing when we tell them the police are on their way! They can return as many times as they like, but we never sleep and our operators are always on the ball so they will never sneak under our radar. I dread to imagine what extensive damage and cost they could cause our client if it wasn’t for our live intervention.
To combat repetitive problems such as this, it is imperative to work as a team with all parties. This is why we have built up a good relationship with personnel at the school, their on call security service and the local police. That is what it’s all about – every party with their own part to play, coming together to work as a team.
