The more false alarms a system generates, the less secure it becomes. Weather conditions, environmental issues and long dark days in Autumn / Winter can wreak havoc with a remotely monitored system if winter health checks are not carried out in preparation. We highly recommend giving the system a once over before it gets too cold out there.
- Lighting. Please check all lights are working. It is extremely helpful when a site is illuminated adequately so Operators can see the site properly.
- Camera Images. Please ensure camera lenses are free from spiders webs and dirt etc as these issues can impede the view.
- Loose debris / litter. Windy weather causes excessive activations if loose debris, polythene sheeting, covering / wrapping or litter etc is left loose. Good housekeeping is very helpful in the prevention of unwanted false alarms so please ensure that anything loose is as secure as possible.
- Detector / beam equipment. Please ensure the detectors and beams are free from spiders webs and dirt etc as these can cause excessive false alarms.
- Service. Remotely monitored CCTV systems benefit from regular servicing -just like a car or boiler. We recommend contacting your installer to perform a service visit if one has not been carried out for 12 months. If you do not have a regular installer, please contact us and we would be delighted to introduce you to one of our approved companies.
