Last week we talked about waste management centres, their unique security requirements, and how they are an attractive playground for adolescents: so much so that our committed operators had to deter the same gang of youths from one of the centres that we monitor – twice in one night!
This week another of the waste management centres that we monitor was (as you probably already guessed) targeted yet again by teenagers. The behaviour of the two young men – one of whom proceeded to climb the fence into the yard, the other popping his head over the fence as if on the lookout – made their criminal intent all too clear.
As soon as the youth was seen climbing the fence, audio warnings were issued in quick succession to deter criminal activity. The trespasser approached a couple of vehicles left on site, then turned tail and left the way he had entered, discouraged by our immediate response.
If not for our operators’ instant reaction, it seems likely that our client would have suffered costly damages. Fortunately, PSM were there to save the day once more.
