Will the bad guys ever learn?
Intruders foiled once again by PSM’s detection systems and ‘rapid response’ operators.
The recent months have been rather crime-filled for PSM’s crime-fighting operators. Sadly, the pandemic is adding fuel to the fire for chancers and cheats, for whom the lockdown signifies two things in particular: more unstaffed sites and less potential witnesses. As is to be expected, the bad guys show no concern for quarantine and social distancing rules, and are very eager to take advantage of what they perceive to be precariously unguarded environments.
One of our remotely monitored sites (belonging to a vehicle conversion specialist in Burnley) suffered two attempted burglaries in a period of five days, both occurring in broad daylight. In the first instance the perpetrators were ousted by the arrival of the police, and they dumped their would-be plunder in a panic; the second time, they were deterred immediately by our operators’ pre-emptive audio warnings: a staple of our service.
At the property of a wholegrain supplier in Newport, a man sporting full high-visibility clothing and a facemask climbed the entry gate and attempted to access another. It is pertinent to note that wearing official-looking clothing is a tactic often used by criminals to try to deceive unwary staff and security by hiding in plain sight. How unfortunate it is for them that PSM’s operators are not the least bit gullible! Needless to say, the innocently guised gatecrasher (with anything but innocent intent) was driven back over the entrance by PSM’s quick response.
It’s only a matter of consequence that whenever anyone tries to bypass our systems, whether during the lockdown or not, they are bound to get caught in the act. Our methods are tried-and-true, yet we are constantly adapting and innovating.
