OUR BEGINNING
Our story began in 2015 when the company – where the senior members of our team had worked at for nearly 20 years – ended.
We wanted to create opportunities for our colleagues who were facing redundancy, because to let their experience and skills go to waste would have been a crime.
PSM was then founded to fulfil what we felt was a gap in the market for exclusive and personal monitoring services.
PSM SECURE INVESTMENT
Determined to keep our team together and create a company that was simply devoted to service, we undertook market and financial research to help us create our unique and bespoke business plan.
We felt blessed to gain the financial backing and mentoring from someone who not only believed in the concept of PSM but who had also experienced first hand the strength of our team via the service standards previously offered to him as a customer.
PSM had a heartbeat; now it had financial backing.
PSM SET OUT TO BUILD HIGH SECURITY FACILITY
After acquiring an empty industrial railway arch, we embarked on a mission to transform it into a control room reinforced with security measures equivalent to a secure government facility.
A lot of hard work, design and vision was required to renovate the empty industrial train arch into a CCTV control room that would be equipped to serve our customers with secure, high level CCTV monitoring.
PSM REINVENT REMOTE MONITORING
To reinvent remote monitoring and provide a totally unique service, we continuously innovate our own software.
Our entire operation – including alarm receiving software – is controlled, created and developed in-house. This allows true bespoke and personal monitoring to our clients.
PSM ACHIEVE NSI GOLD
Within the first 10 months of PSM, we achieved the highest accreditation in the security industry – NSI Gold & ISO9001. This included building the control room to the highest secure specification plus writing and developing our own Quality Management System.
PSM AWARDED SECURED BY DESIGN
To continue our streak of success, we were the first monitoring company to be awarded Secured By Design accreditation, the only police preferred security supplier initiative.
PSM CREATE GYM SAFE
We created our own unique 24/7 security solution tailored for gyms and leisure facilities - GymSafe. Gym owners can create a bespoke gym security package to suit any budget, protecting their gym, members and staff with CCTV surveillance and anti-tailgating technology.
PSM SECURE CYBER ESSENTIALS ACCREDITATION
PSM achieved government-approved Cyber Essentials certification, proving we operated securely and took cyber security seriously to protect our organisation, customers, and supply chain.
PSM TRACES AI IS LAUNCHED
We introduced our innovative AI technology - PSM Traces AI,
which helps reduce false alarms and increase security of the properties we protect.
PSM BECOMES MEMBER OF BSIA
We proudly joined the BSIA after meeting their standards, strengthening our commitment to continuous improvement, industry excellence, and delivering the best possible service.
PSM ACHIEVE INVESTORS IN PEOPLE GOLD
PSM would be nothing without our incredible team, and we’re delighted to have achieved Gold certification from Investors in People (IIP) in recognition of our outstanding workplace culture. Following on from PSM’s IIP Silver certification for the last 3 years, this is another milestone for PSM and is a true source of pride for Kerry and the wider team.
PSM BECOMES 100% OWNED BY KERRY
PSM becomes 100% independently owned by Kerry. After launching the company with an investor and co-founder, Kerry later secured full ownership to ensure the business stayed true to its core values: integrity, reliability, and genuine customer care.
