Masked intruders burst into family home
When a terrifying house burglary happened at one of our client’s homes, our CCTV monitoring operators sprang into action – here’s how it went down.
1. Introduction
In this terrifying footage of a house burglary, three masked criminals smash their way into one of our client’s family homes with sheer force and speed. Luckily, PSM were on hand to try and deter the assailants. We alerted the police while the burglary was in progress and made sure the criminals knew emergency services were on the way.
2. The incident
It’s not long after midnight at one of the residential properties we monitor. Out of nowhere, 3 masked men launch a shocking assault at the entrance of our client’s family home. They smash a brick through the front door’s glass frame to gain entry into the property. This activity is picked up immediately by our CCTV control room operators.
3. PSM's response
Realising a serious crime is taking place, and the safety and welfare of our client and their family members inside the house are under serious threat, PSM deliver a rapid response in an attempt to warn off the criminals. This included:
A. Audio warnings
PSM’s CCTV monitoring operators deliver both recorded and live audio warnings. This is usually enough to ward off criminals, but this wasn’t the case in this terrifying scenario as they continue relentlessly to break into the house.
B. Call to police
After assessing the situation in real time, PSM’s CCTV monitoring operators immediately get in touch with the police. The call handlers take details of the incident from the operator whilst alerting the response units to attend the property as soon as possible.
4. The aftermath
After hearing the sirens and knowing the police were on their way, the intruders make their getaway. As they exit the property, they use what was later known to be a solution that destroys fingerprints, which was originally suspected to be flammable liquid.
The intruders spend 2 excruciating minutes in the house before vanishing into the night. Soon after, the police arrive to assist the family and contain the situation.
5. Emergency services arrive at the scene
Within minutes, the police arrive to assist the family and investigate. The swift actions of PSM’s monitoring operators mean the police and fire service are quick on the scene and the intruders are out of there fast – helping to bring this distressing ordeal to an end.

“It was a terrifying ordeal for me and my whole family, including my young daughter.
We were not long in bed before we heard loud bangs coming from downstairs, and I knew instantly something was seriously wrong.
Once the intruders had broken in, they demanded I open the safe. Fearing for the safety of my family, I stayed calm and allowed the three men to take what they wanted.
Fortunately, they left soon after they entered, for which we have to give all of our thanks to our monitoring station, PSM.
